READ! Cause of Davao City Explosion Revealed!

After the casualty brought about by the explosion in Davao City Market, fragments of an improvised explosive device (IED) were found at the explosion site according a report from ABS-CBN News after interviewing Communications Secretary Martin Andanar this Saturday morning.

But Andanar cannot fully confirm the cause of the explosion at the moment and if the IED was indeed the cause. He said "No. You can say na mayroong initial report na galing sa isang mortar-based na IED."

The city has been placed on high alert and the police authorities are monitoring any suspicious activity within the area. Checkpoints in the city have also been set-up as per order by President Rodrigo Duterte. Andanar said "The directive was for the national police to manage a detailed checkpoint all over Davao City, and we encourage all citizens to cooperate."

The police have tallied 60 people injured in the incident with about 14 deaths due to the aftermath of the explosion.
