After Senator Leila De Lima called out the extra-judicial killings under the new administration of President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Allan Peter Cayetano responded to De Lima's critical statements about the killings due to the president's anti-drug campaign.
Cayetano, who is the former VP running mate of the president, defended Duterte and requested De Lima to stop jumping into conclusions in his speech. The rising death numbers have alarmed De Lima and prompted her to question the killings.
Senator Cayetano made it clear that the new administration is well aware of the killings and the President looks into the cases and investigations thoroughly.
He urged everyone in the senate to be united and support the new administration as well as the anti-drug campaign of President Duterte, allowing police authorities to perform their duties as the battle between illegal drug trades and operations continue.
