President Duterte Confirms Presence of Notorious Mexican Drug Cartel Operations in the Country

One of the most notorious drug cartels in Mexico apparently has its presence in the Philippines. The Sinaloa Drug Cartel smuggles illegal income from the United States via contraband products of clothing and footwear.
President Rodrigo Duterte acknowledged the activities of the prominent drug cartel during the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) last Wednesday.

Duterte said "Is Mexico into us? Yes. Sinaloa iyong cartel nila, tayo ang transshipment. Kasi in-eradicate sila ng mga Amerikano. Binomba sila. Kaya dito sila active ang Sinaloa. I never, never, never hoist a lie. I’m telling you."
Apparently, the Mexican drug cartel has eyed the Philippines as a prime opportunity for their operations since the United States poses a threat to their activities due to their strict policies on drugs.

The president has stated that if the issues of illegal drugs in the country won't be solved during his term, then perhaps no succeeding president would be able to address it.

Last year, the Department of Justice (DOJ) caught a supposed member of the drug cartel during a raid operation in Makati City.

As the battle against drugs continue, the President is making sure he delivers on his promise on suppressing drug activities in the country to provide the next generation with a bright future which is drug-free.
