Leila De Lima Responds to Duterte's Remarks, Calls it Character Assassination!

After President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Senator Leila De Lima hard during his speech at Camp Crame, the latter reacted to the harsh comments and criticisms of the president towards her, deeming his words as foul and a form of 'character assassination' about referring to a certain female politician.
De Lima immediately reacted to the president's statements by saying "Ang first reaction ko lang, ayaw ko nang patulan yan. I don't want to dignify that. It's so foul. It's character assassination," she said.

"Ang first reaction ko lang, ayaw ko nang patulan yan. I don't want to dignify that. It's so foul. It's character assassination,"

"Pareho po naman kaming propesyonal ng pangulo. Pareho kaming public servants so sana hindi na ho siya nagre-resort sa ganyan na foul means. To me that's very foul," she then added.

She was accused of having an affair with her personal driver for collecting money that President Duterte mentioned during his speech. De Lima was also the one to file for an investigation of the extra judicial killings due to the anti-drug campaign under Duterte's term.

"I don't know kung ano po agenda nila that they are resorting to character assassination. That is a very clear case of character assassination, I did not expect the President to do that. Sa totoo lang," she said.
