Netizens have been buzzing about Tommy Connoly, a regular college student who wasn't expecting a drastic change in his life would happen. Only one message on Facebook was all it took to completely alter his life in a way he didn't fully see coming.

A part-time worker, student-athlete and an average joe, Tommy took the online world by storm with his touching story.

It all began when he received a Facebook message from his 17-year old cousin Angela who's fallen on hard times. She was pregnant, homeless and desperately in need of help. She reached out to Tommy and from there, both of their lives were forever changed.

Without hesitation, Tommy picked her up, dropped her home and signed papers to legally adopt her. He wanted to make sure that she can "keep the baby, stay off the streets, and have a better life."

And now, Tommy continues his studies while fully supporting his new family. He's gained attention in the eyes of many people who deemed his actions to be quite inspiring.

Despite the recognitions, Tommy remains grounded and humble, saying  "I know what I've done is a really good thing, but I feel guilty I'm getting all this attention,"
