The incoming speaker of the House of Representatives revealed that the transition of the government would potentially eliminate the vice president position, though a discussion will ultimately tell if the position is removed completely. Davao del Norte representative Pantaleon Alvarez told reporters "In a parliamentary set-up, walang VP."He also added "Depende yan kung ano mapagkasunduan, if it's a Con-Con (constitutional convention) or Con-Ass (constitutional assembly), kung ano ang mapagkasunduan dun (form of government)". Right now, vice president-elect Leni Robredo's role under Duterte is unclear as no offer has yet for Leni to receive, unlike past presidents."
