BIR Officials Planning For a Mass Resignation Starting on July 1, 2016!

July 1, 2016 will mark the first day of Rodrigo Duterte as the president of the Philippines, and it appears that the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) are already planning a mass resignation.

Employees and officials were profoundly offended about Duterte's remarks about the bureau, stating that it is one of the most corrupt government agencies in the country, as per reports by The Daily Tribune.
This move by the bureau is believed to signal their protest over the "corruption" claims which was a direct blow to their reputation.Lilia Guillermo, one of BIR Commissioner Kim Henares' three deputies, stated that she was hurt by the president's remarks and is now thinking about deciding for an early retirement to signal her protest.

Commissioner Henares also said the following: "I am hurting for my subordinates as I have worked with them for six years and now their hard work is not being recognized."
