PNP Chief dela Rosa Disappointed After Two Policewomen Starstruck by Mark Anthony Fernandez

Actor Mark Anthony Fernandez was arrested by police authorities after a chase led to the discovery of marijuana inside his car. He made waves on the spotlight once again, albeit this time for the wrong reasons after a viral photo of him along with two policemen in Angeles City who were in 'awe' of Fernandez went viral online.

This spawned numerous reactions from many netizens and also caught the attention of PNP Chief Ronald 'Bato' Dela Rosa who expressed his disappointment in regards to the said picture. “Personally ako, I don't like that picture because as law enforcers, ano ba, na starstruck ka pa rin sa isang criminal offender, di ba? Meaning hinuli siya di ba he is a suspect at ngayon magpapapicture ka pa doon?”

Bato carefully reminded law enforcers to prohibit taking pictures with arrested suspects, even if they are actors and celebrities. He said “Yung mga tao, lalong lalo na yung normal na criminal offenders baka sabihin nila that there is a double standard sa policy na ginagawa natin, sa law enforcement na ginagawa natin,"
Dela Rosa will be seeking the explanation of the two policewomen, but iterated that he understood the actions of the two officers who were left starstruck after seeing Fernandez. “Naiintindihan ko rin naman ang aking policewomen dahil nakalimutan siguro nila na sila ay pulis, na-overwhelm lang sila, nangibabaw sa kanila yung kanilang pagka movie fan siguro,”

Regional Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino said that the policewomen did not violate any rules. “Wala namang violation. But pagsasabihan ko sila na hindi proper magpapicture sa isang suspect. Nagkataon lang naman kasi na celebrity ‘yung suspect. Hindi naman nila yun sinasadya,”
