The case of Filipina Mary Jane Veloso who was placed on death row in Indonesia after being caught with 2.6 kg of heroin at the Yogyakarta airport last 2010 has been in talks after Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte met with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Presidential spokesperson Ernesto Abella quoted Duterte's statement to Widodo, saying "Follow your own laws. I will not interfere," The National Union of People's Lawyers (NUPL) have yet to release their statement who are helping Veloso with her case. "Unless there is indubitable A1 confirmation either way, the Veloso family & their Filipino lawyers from NUPL opt for the moment to decline to give comment until we receive official information both from the Ph and Indonesian governments," according to a summarized report from them which was posted on Facebook just this Monday afternoon.
