Who knew that these odd and bizarre traditions existed? That's right, here we list 7 of the creepiest traditions mankind has seen, and it's time you find out what they are.
1. Bullet ant gloves
In order to become a man and be separated from the boys, the young guys of the Amazon tribe wear a woven mitt filled with deadly bullet ants that sting like hell. They wear this mitt on their hands and dance for 10 minutes and shockingly enough, they have to repeat this at least 20 times in their lifetime.
2. Hindu Thaipusam festival piercings
These are no ordinary piercings. The Hindus have this weird tradition of body piercing and pilgrims to the Malaysia's Batu caves where they devote themselves to the Lord Murugan, which is the God of War. And the piercings look pretty painful.
3. Bhutan night hunting
The eastern parts of the Himalayan kingdoms have this tradition called Bomena in which young men go out at night and search for the love of their life and break into the rooms of the girl and spend the night and from there, they have to marry the girl. Quite an interesting love journey might we say.
4. Burial ritual called Yanomami
When a family member from the Yanomami dies, the remains of the person are burned and the ashes are used and mixed in a soup which is then drunk by the members of the family. The people believe that the spirit of the dead will forever remain with them because of this ritual.
