Second Moon of Earth Discovered by NASA Scientists! Take a Look!

We've always believed that the Earth had only one single moon. But after NASA scientists have discovered a second mini-moon revolving around our planet, that idea may very well change.

They have discovered the asteroid just last April and scientists have called it "2016 HO3". The mini-moon is super tiny as far as heavenly bodies measure, sizing about only 120 feet long and 300 feet wide.

Paul Chodas, the manager of the NASA's Center for Near-Earth Object in California said,
The asteroid's loops around Earth drift a little ahead or behind from year to year, but when they drift too far forward or backward, Earth's gravity is just strong enough to reverse the drift and hold onto the asteroid so that it never wanders farther away than 100 times the distance of the moon.
He then added "Our calculations indicate 2016 HO3 has been a stable quasi-satellite of Eart for almost a century, and it will continue to follow this pattern as Earth's companion for centuries to come."
